Dr. Sayida Peprah is both a licensed clinical psychologist and trained birth doula. She specializes in multicultural psychology, trauma, suicide prevention and maternal mental health. During this episode they discuss how implicit bias and trauma impact Black mothers, how to advocate for yourself during and after birth to get the best care, how providers can offer more culturally appropriate care, and resources to feel more empowered, supported, and heard throughout your journey.
