There has been a recent threat to homeopathy worrying mothers around the country. Some of us lose sleep at night with the idea that homeopathy may be taken away from us – the idea that we visit our health food store to not see our favorite trusted remedies on the shelves seems unimaginable and quite frankly wrong. We worry for our children, for our grandchildren. Many of us rely on homeopathic remedies to help our children when sick – they are our go-to Doctor Mom tool. How can this be?

Rest assured mama – we are FIGHTING and we are fighting hard. And we have an amazing organization called Americans for Homeopathy Choice who are well prepared, organized, and have already proven to have an effective voice to make CHANGE!

Please welcome to today’s episode Paola Brown, president of Americans for Homeopathy Choice, along with Laura Held, the organization’s grassroots leader. We had a great chat with them to learn more about their organization, and to clarify the common misconceptions going around about homeopathy being illegal (which it is not!) or if we are at risk of losing homeopathy overnight (again no we aren’t!!)

Paola Brown is president and founder of Americans for Homeopathy Choice, the voice of a growing number of mothers and other homeopathy users who want to protect their right to choose homeopathy. Paola is a wife and mother of three who has previously taught many introductory homeopathy classes. She received a B.A. in English education and an M.A. in curriculum and instruction from Arizona State University graduating summa cum laude both times. She taught college English for 13 years and high school English before that. Fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, Paola was also a health instructor with Care for Life, a nonprofit organization working to develop sustainable communities in Mozambique.

Laura is a wife, mother, home educator, and student at the Academy of Homeopathy Education. As the Grassroots Director for Americans for Homeopathy Choice, Laura oversees the nationwide volunteer advocacy team advancing the organization’s efforts to foster the inclusion of the consumer voice in policy decisions on homeopathic medicine. She previously worked for the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and was integral to the development of the U.S. Currency Education Program and training domestic and global stakeholders for the launch of the new-design $100 note.
